OldSchoolStore (oldschoolstore.in) is an online marketplace that allows parents across India to buy, sell, give away, and recycle second-hand school uniforms, books, bags, and other school items. We are a platform — we do not hold inventory, process payments, or facilitate physical delivery.

When you register:

• Full name
• Email address
• Mobile phone number
• Password (stored in hashed form — we cannot see it)

When you post a listing:

• School name, item details, size, grade, price, condition
• WhatsApp number (displayed publicly on the listing so buyers can contact you)
• Photos of the item (if provided)

Automatically collected:

• IP address and browser type (for security and analytics)
• Pages visited and actions taken on the platform

We do not collect payment card details, Aadhaar numbers, PAN numbers, or any government ID information.

• To create and manage your account
• To display your listings to other parents searching for uniforms at your school
• To allow buyers to contact you via WhatsApp (your WhatsApp number is shown on your listing)
• To send you important account notifications (e.g., listing approved or rejected)
• To detect and prevent fraud, spam, or misuse of the platform
• To improve the platform based on usage patterns
• To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations

We will never use your information for unsolicited marketing without your consent.

The following information on your listings is visible to all visitorsof OldSchoolStore (including non-registered users):

• Listing title, description, photos, price, size, grade, school name
• Your first name (as the seller)
• Your WhatsApp number (so buyers can contact you directly)

Important: Because your WhatsApp number is public on a listing, please use a number you are comfortable sharing. You can remove or deactivate a listing at any time from your account.

OldSchoolStore integrates with the following third-party services:

• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.): The "Contact Seller on WhatsApp" button opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. We do not access or store your WhatsApp conversations. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to those interactions.
• Unsplash: We use a copyright-free stock photo from Unsplash on our homepage banner. No personal data is shared with Unsplash.

• Your account data is retained as long as your account is active.
• Listings you delete are removed from public view immediately.
• You may request full account deletion by emailing us at info@oldschoolstore.in. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
• We may retain anonymised, aggregated analytics data indefinitely.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:

• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we cannot read your password
• API access is protected by JWT tokens
• We do not store payment information

However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. Use a strong, unique password and do not share your login credentials with anyone.

OldSchoolStore is intended for use by parents and guardians, not children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has registered on our platform, please contact us immediately at info@oldschoolstore.in and we will delete the account.

Under applicable Indian law (including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
• Objection: Object to our processing of your data

We use minimal session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings; this will log you out of your account.
